School of Music? Yes, but wait...
I have always been intrigued by both worlds: Computer and Music. A lot is written about programmers
who are also musicians on the net, some very interesting articles too.
I will not repeat that here, just search for it - it is worth the while.
My best office was a setup where
my computer and my piano were opposite from each other. I only turned with my seat 180 degree
and I was off to the next venture.
Until I have my own music page up, have a look at two samples of
my works at freeldssheetmusic.org, both were commissioned.
Computer
I started my computer journey at the age of 14 with the design of Logic-Networks. A lot
of boolean algebra; good old days.
Via microcontroller, Assembler and Turbo Pascal I started to program for store owners
and for lecturers at colleges. Eventually my journey led me to write stock option planning
Software and medical databases. My newest venture leads me to genealogical programming.
Music
I started teaching piano over 30 years ago. While I was studying Computer Science,
Physics and Music at the University of Münster (Germany), I also got into
composing, took lessons in composing and later won 2nd prize in a composition
competition for classical orchestra.
I played in Big Bands; Brass Bands and a marching Band. I arranged and composed
for all of those Bands and conducted them as well.
